Role Summary

UK&I Value & Access Consulting is a critical function within in the Market Access and Patient Activation (MAPA) Business Unit, often acting as a ‘spearhead’ and first point of engagement with a client brand that develops into broader engagements involving departments across the IQVIA business e.g. Clinical Services, HEOR, Commercial Effectiveness, Technology and Real World Evidence. To that end core to the role is your ability to deeply understand the objectives of our clients and translate those into the delivery of outstanding consultancy outputs aligned to exceptional client service, while building trusted relationships with new and existing clients that enhance the MAPA brand. Success will be measured by the ability to support the team Principals in new busiess development opportunities, work as a team on complex projects, whilst seeking to optimise how work is delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible. As a result the role requires excellent interpersonal skills.

You will be responsible for contributing and / or leading the delivery of value and access consultancy projects and solutions, supported by our world-class proprietary data assets, which help to fuel the advancement of our UK-based pharmaceutical and healthcare clients.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with our clients on a daily basis to understand their challenges, requirements, and market access issues.
  • Be a key contributer to  proposals for potential solutions; liaising closely with senior colleagues across multiple organisational groups, particulariy our business development and key account community to help in the identification and conversion of new business.
  • Apply project management experience and leadership to structure project approaches, react to changing timelines and requirements, and deliver on commitments to time and to budget.
  • Design and structure impactful project reports, workshops and presentations that are tailored to the needs of the audience.
  • Proactively broaden knowledge of consulting methodologies and the health and life sciences industries through the delivery of consulting engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA in the market place, e.g. through speaking engagements, client meetings, publications etc.
  • Take responsibility for personally directly driving new business.
  • Comply with all relevant IQVIA policies, processes and procedures, and maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information held, processed or communicated by IQVIA, in line with those policies, processes and procedures.

Education, skills and experience required

  • Deep understand of our Life Science clients’ business and how this aligns to an ever evolving NHS.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the local market access environment (UK and Ireland policy, NHS/healthcare landscape, HTAs, NICE, NIHR etc).
  • Commercial Awareness and Ownership - Considers flow of money and resources through an organisation, and the need to get maximum value at each stage. Seeks to achieve commercial objectives, such as profitability, so the business can be as competitive and successful as possible.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving; Applies an analytical approach to solving problems and reaching logical conclusions. Gathers information from a variety of sources and quickly gains an understanding of it. Works effectively with complicated, conflicting or ambiguous information, and looks beyond the surface of issues to identify their underlying patterns and causes.
  • A mix of experience across relevant domains; services, consulting, NHS commissioning or pharma/CRO.
  • Management and mentoring experience - enables others to perform. Sets a clear direction and delegates fairly and appropriately allowing others the means to achieve their goals. Looks for opportunities to develop individuals by encouraging them to take on greater responsibility and make decisions for themselves.

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to support the execution of multiple complex projects at once within a team environment, to tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) strong communication skills using all mediums.
