What to Expect?
The Purchasing Manager will be the key liaison between Sun Wholesale Supply operations and our supplier partners. The job entails overseeing purchasing and customer service functions for Sun Wholesale Supply. Monitoring inventory levels and being instrumental in achieving cost savings through negotiations and contract implementation. This is a critical role that requires a strong sense of urgency, team management, great communications skills, and the ability to compile and analyze large amounts of data.
On a daily basis our Purchasing Manager:
Negotiate pricing and terms.
Maintain adequate gross profit margins.
Prepare budgets and track performance.
Manage inventory turns.
Analyze and present data.
Issue purchase orders to approved suppliers to obtain materials, at lowest cost consistent with quality and reliability.
Work with all department heads to insure: Warehouse space and inventory turns, sales and marketing of new products and programs, advertising product mix and pricing, accounting for proper invoice pricing and quantities, and data processing for different ways to streamline department to be more effective.
What You Will Need:
3 - 5 years or of management and supply chain experience.
Experience with JD Edwards/AS400 Distribution Module desirable.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Complex problem-solving skills.
Multi-task individual to assume various positions on projects.
Team management skills.
