We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the growth, strategy, and lifecycle management of Sabroe natural refrigerant heat pumps. You’ll drive profitable growth while advancing sustainability and decarbonization goals, shaping a portfolio that meets customer needs and regulatory demands. You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to translate the voice of the customer into market-leading products.

This role is based in our office in Holme, Denmark (Aarhus area) next to our factory. It requires travel within the EU and beyond as needed. If you have 5+ years of relevant experience and a passion for sustainable cooling solutions, we want to hear from you.

What you will do

As the Senior Product Manager for Johnson Controls Industrial Refrigeration (IR), Sabroe branded Heat Pumps, you will lead the overall growth, strategy and life cycle management of Sabroe Heat Pumps. With the push for sustainability and de-carbonization, you will drive the profitable growth of our natural refrigerant based highly sustainable heat pumps and help customers achieve their sustainability goals. It is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, high performing dynamic environment. You will be working and collaborating closely with customers and various internal stakeholders such as sales, marketing, engineering, R&D, manufacturing and suppliers. This position is based at the office next to our factory in Holme (Aarhus area) Denmark and requires travel within the EU and outside of the EU, as needed.

How will you do it

  • Be the product champion, leading the growth, strategy and product life cycle management for natural refrigerant based heat pumps

  • This requires strong customer engagement and close collaboration and accountability with key cross-functional constituents

  • Maintaining and updating product roadmaps, product life cycle curves, setting engineering project priorities. Launching new products based on voice of customer, strategic pricing, market trends and regulations, delivering key metrics such as on-growth, on-budget, on-time

  • Developing product vision, business cases for new products or standardization of existing products, 80/20 prioritization and supporting capital appropriation requests, as part of the long-range planning process

  • Tracking product performance and driving appropriate actions based on actuals vs. plan performance monthly

  • Enabling sales and service through improved sales tools and literature. Work closely with engineering/application engineering for custom quotes.

  • Representing Johnson Controls in industry associations and events, working closely with marketing and government relations team, providing thought leadership.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or marketing.

  • 5+ years of experience in product management of complex engineered-to-order HVAC-R equipment (Heating Ventilating Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration).

  • Technical understanding and practical application of natural refrigerant based compressors, compression packages, site-built systems, industrial chillers and heat pumps.

  • Understanding of product development (new product introduction) process and demonstrated execution from voice of customer to new product launch.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a highly matrix and diverse global team environment, with strong customer focus and engagement.

  • Interpersonal skills and proven strong collaboration with diverse cross functional teams

  • Ability to travel (10% - 20%) domestic and internationally, as required.

Preferred

  • MBA or other graduate-level degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

  • Technical experience in Industrial Refrigeration systems with reciprocating and/or screw compressors, with natural refrigerants such as Ammonia  

  • Engagement with industry trade associations related to natural refrigerants and de-carbonization of cooling and heating
