About You


Are you a strategic operator with experience working with enterprise policy frameworks and in corporate governance? RMIT University is seeking a highly capable Manager, Central Policy to lead the development, implementation, and assurance of our enterprise-wide policy governance framework.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that RMIT’s internal policies are aligned with strategic objectives, regulatory obligations, and operational needs. You will work across the university to embed best-practice policy lifecycle management - from design and consultation to approval, implementation, and review - ensuring consistency, compliance, and clarity across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage RMIT’s enterprise-wide policy governance framework, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive policy lifecycle management, including proving guidance on development, implementation, assurance, and cyclical review.

  • Build organisational capability through training, stakeholder engagement, and advisory support.

  • Oversee the enterprise policy register and ensure accurate, timely reporting to governance bodies.

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and collaborate with business units to ensure policy effectiveness and compliance.

About You – What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in managing corporate or enterprise policy frameworks, and policy development within large, complex organisations.

  • Strong conceptual understanding ofinstitutional policy and related governance, risk management, compliance, and assurance practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to write and review high-quality policy documents, governance reports, and executive communications.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across diverse business functions.

  • Experience in leading capability-building initiatives and driving continuous improvement in policy processes.
