Accounting at Brex 

The Accounting team at Brex ensures that we have perfect financial reporting, but even more so, we serve as beta testers and power users of Brex’s financial products, providing analysis and feedback prior to product releases. Not only are we responsible for maintaining accurate books and records, we are also deeply passionate about automation and partner closely with the Engineering team to implement technological improvements.

What you’ll do

This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact and optimize our HR processes through the Workday platform, becoming a critical driver of our technology roadmap. In partnership with the People team, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end process of developing and implementing HR technology solutions, ensuring clear requirements, technical accuracy, and security compliance. Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our Vancouver office. You must be willing to work in the office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Workday, driving system releases, integrations, and configurations to maximize performance and user experience.
  • Design and deliver insightful Workday reports and dashboards, leveraging advanced calculations to empower data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with People Operations to translate evolving business needs into impactful system enhancements and streamlined processes.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment, ensuring successful solution delivery.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and stay ahead of HRIS trends, ensuring the organization leverages the latest technologies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Workday experience
  • Proficiency in Workday Core HCM configuration (business processes, custom reports, security), with demonstrated experience in at least one additional module (Benefits, Absence Management, Payroll, Time Tracking, Compensation, Talent/Performance).
  • Ability to manage and manipulate data within Workday, including experience with EIBs for mass data loads, a deep understanding of calculated fields, and proficiency in creating advanced and matrix reports.
  • Proven experience in integration troubleshooting and resolving configuration issues within the Workday platform.
  • Strong analytical abilities, project management experience, and proficiency in Excel, with the ability to handle complex situations.
  • Project management expertise with the ability to lead projects end-to-end through the systems development life-cycle, from requirements gathering through deployment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a strong desire for continuous learning, innovation, and the development of new skills and functional expertise.

Bonus points

  • Workday certification(s) are preferred.
  • Workday Advanced Compensation or Talent Management implementation expertise.
  • Experience working within a global organization.
  • Experience with SOX and/or internal IT controls for process development and implementation.
  • Workday integration configuration experience (EIB, Workday Studio, Workday Orchestration).
  • Experience administering additional people systems (e.g., Lattice, CultureAmp, Greenhouse).

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $116,000- $145,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
