Job Description
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and be eligible for South Carolina APRN licensure. Applicants must hold current national certification as an FNP and have at least two years of APRN practice experience in primary care or a related setting. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, along with a commitment to student success, professional collaboration, and excellence in advanced practice nursing education.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network is required.
MSN-prepared candidates must enroll in a doctoral program or begin a DNP or PhD program within the first two years of employment.
Preferred qualifications: The preferred candidate will have an earned DNP or doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, current national board certification as an FNP, and evidence of commitment to professional scholarship.
Prior teaching experience, including precepting APRN students, is highly valued. Experience with or interest in competency-based education, case-based learning, problem-based learning, and student-centered teaching is also preferred. Experience with graduate online teaching methods is desirable; however, motivated candidates who are new to formal teaching but meet the educational, certification, and practice requirements are encouraged to apply.
