What You Will Do:

  • Analyze data to facilitate the timely planning and execution of inventory purchases and deliveries.

  • Interface with external suppliers and internal customers to plan and prioritize material supply.

  • Utilize the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process to analyze historical product usage, forecast future inventory needs, analyze and monitor inventory levels and slow moving and obsolete products and assist with new products from engineering

  • Discuss future inventory needs with Sales and Operations departments

  • Recommend and create purchase orders based on the MRP process and target inventory levels. 

  • Monitor supplier performance to purchase order commitments and communicate internally.

  • Adjust purchase order details and delivery dates based on supplier capacity and demand.

  • Assist with supplier scorecards for quality and delivery

  • Assist with physical inventory, typically performed one weekend per year

  • Recommend and assist in establishing target inventory levels.

  • Identify and assist with productivity projects

  • Identify opportunities to improve turn rates, i.e. consignment agreements, vendor held stock

  • Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply and assist with new supplier assessments

  • Negotiate price reductions, improved payment terms, and programs to reduce working capital

  • Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations; negotiate prices and delivery conditions; commit to purchases (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization's best interest

  • Work under general supervision and engage in a balanced blend of tactical and strategic activity.

Position Details:

  • Job specific location – on-site

  • Work schedule – Generally Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional evenings for international calls and occasional weekends to support urgent business needs

  • Potential travel to operation and vendor sites (both international and domestic)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 2 years experience in a similar role

  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel to include use of formulas, conditional formatting, vLookups and Pivot Tables

  • Ability to develop technical product and operations knowledge

  • Ability to develop interpersonal relationships for effective team collaboration

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

  • Prior collaboration with international suppliers
