Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer – Cloud Services to help build and operate highly available, scalable services that power UniFS-as-a-Service across AWS and Azure environments.

This role is ideal for software engineers with 3–5 years of hands-on experience building cloud-native applications who want to deepen their expertise in serverless architectures, distributed systems, and infrastructure-as-code.

You will contribute production-grade code, participate in feature development, and support cloud services running in customer and SaaS-hosted environments. This role focuses on execution excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement within Agile teams.

Level & Scope Definition

In this role, you will:

• Own delivery of well-defined features and service components within the Cloud Services platform.
• Contribute to design discussions and architecture decisions led by senior engineers.
• Independently implement, test, and deploy production-ready code.
• Participate in production support and incident analysis.
• Collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, Product Management, and Support teams.
• Operate within established architectural standards and security practices.

You will not be expected to:

• Lead large-scale architectural redesigns.
• Manage other engineers.
• Own long-term platform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features for cloud-native services supporting UniFS.
• Develop Python-based serverless services using AWS and/or Azure technologies.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality production releases.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Docker and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Support deployment and troubleshooting of services in AWS and Azure environments.
• Investigate production incidents, assist in root cause analysis, and contribute to corrective actions.
• Implement secure coding practices for internet-facing services.
• Collaborate in Agile sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing Python applications in production.
• Experience building or maintaining cloud-native applications in AWS or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following:
• AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
• Azure Container Apps, Blob Storage, CosmosDB, Service Bus
• Experience writing automated tests using pytest or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with RESTful API development (e.g., FastAPI or similar frameworks).
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with boto3 or Azure SDK for Python.
• Experience with Docker in CI/CD workflows.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK, Bicep, Terraform, etc.).
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts (scalability, observability, resilience).
• Experience supporting production systems.

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience developing serverless architectures at scale.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kinesis, Event Hub, SQS).
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments.
• AWS or Azure certification.
