Roles & Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance service and repairs for the facility.  Maintenance to include equipment and building maintenance and coordination of outside vendor services.  The position requires knowledge in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty.

Position Summary:

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on a documented scheduled basis and maintain Preventative Maintenance log. 
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance tasks per manufacturer’s specifications on all facility equipment including facility support equipment.
  • Keeps production in service by scheduling preventative maintenance with crew leaders to minimize production downtime.
  • Repairs equipment as needed. 
  • Fabricates parts for machinery when applicable.
  • Maintains Equipment Maintenance Logs on all equipment.
  • Coordinates and oversees all outside work for electrical and HVAC work with sub-contractors.
  • Performs daily equipment checks on production equipment.
  • Purchases and inventories parts and supplies of equipment and related facilities needs.
  • Maintains facility’s building maintenance, as needed. 
  • Acquires and maintains tools necessary for related maintenance task.
  • Demonstrates commitment to team work by cooperating with a positive attitude with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments in achieving company goals, contributing ideas, and suggestions to help facility improve performance in service, production, or problem solving.
  • Attends monthly safety committee meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Has good mechanical aptitude
  • Has valid drivers license
  • Has forklift operators certification
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.

Other Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education/Credentials: High school diploma or its equivalent preferred 
  • Training:  Forklift, Machinery preferred 
  • Experience: 1-2 years previous experience preferred 
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to apply math, writing, and language skills 

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands of Job: Requires vision, speech, and hearing
  • Environmental Factors: Outside weather conditions, Construction site and manufacturing facility exposure
  • Hours of Work: 6:00AM to 2:30PM Monday through Friday

  • Salary: $24.00 - $28.00 hourly (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
