Job Description:

SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the receipt, verification, storage, and record keeping of materials received and shipped.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

•    Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Performs excellent guest service at all times.

•    Verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

•    Checks incoming merchandise against shipping manifests and worksheets.

•    Check all incoming product for quality.

•    Assist Inventory Control with the receiving process for inventoried items.

•    Receives all packages shipped via FedEx, UPS, DHL or other carriers.

•    Receives in MMS the amount of items received, then turns in paperwork to Accounting.

•    Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.

•    Moves products to storage or delivers to designated areas in a timely manner.

•    Cooperates with Accounts Payable and Inventory Control in the verification of orders received. 

•    Prepares boxes or packages for shipment via FedEx, UPS, DHL or other carriers, maintaining records of all shipments.

•    Maintain receiving files and insures that they are organized.

•    Handles all receiving and shipping functions in accordance with appropriate safety standards and handles all equipment and tools in accordance with the manufacture’s instructions.

•    Performs routine clerical duties associated with the position.

•    Able to work as a Warehouse/Receiving Clerk as needed by the Department.

•    Perform housekeeping duties as required.

•    Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.

•    Performs any reasonable request made by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; three months or more related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be extremely number-oriented and computer literate.  Must possess effective communication, organization, and analytical skills.  Must have experience in the operation of a forklift and an electric pallet jack.  Must be able to successfully complete the Operator Safety Training Course for both.  Shipping and Receiving experience preferred.  Must also be at least 21 years old to perform this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions, furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The Team Member is regularly required to lift and move up to fifty pounds, frequently move up to seventy-five pounds, and occasionally move up to one hundred pounds or more.
     
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
