Synopsis of the role 

At Equifax, The Summer 2026 Business System Analyst co-op participates in a 15-week co-op program which is a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students. The program provides meaningful projects with direct impact on our business as well as exposure to senior leaders and opportunities to network. We are seeking a motivated CoOp to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution. This experience will help you dive into the world of financial services, translating complex business requirements into technical specifications for cloud-based applications and batch pipelines. The BSA will also have an opportunity to interact with members of the engineering squads (Delivery) to drive innovation through Automation and AI, helping to design efficient workflows and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality technical solutions.

  • The 15 week co-op  program runs from May 5th 2026 to August 20th 2026.

  • Co ops are required to follow our hybrid onsite policy of  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - onsite for the duration of the 15 - week program. 

  • Monday and Friday are remote work days. 

  • Co ops must be local to the Toronto area and have the ability to commute to our office in Toronto based on where the role is.

What you’ll do

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and workflows for batch pipelines and cloud-based applications

  • Assist in creating POC workflows to demonstrate potential technical solutions

  • Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, pipeline improvements and AI leveraging

  • Document technical workflows and business logic to help engineers and stakeholders understand what will be built

  • Collaborate with software engineers, QA and Delivery Managers to ensure requirements are implemented correctly

  • Participate in squad meetings and agile ceremonies to understand planning, sprint execution and delivery priorities

  • Support automation and AI initiatives by identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency

  • Participate in production monitoring conversations

What experience you need

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think logically and organize information clearly to translate business needs into technical solutions

  • Interest in financial services and learning how technology supports business solutions in this space

  • Comfortable working with cloud technologies and courier to learn (preferably GCP)

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineers, QA and Delivery Managers

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written and able to create clear documentation and diagrams

What could set you apart

  • Experience creating simple workflow prototypes or mockups for technical solutions

  • Exposure to GCP services and cloud platforms knowledge

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g.: Jira, Confluence, etc)

  • Experience with automation tools and AI concepts

  • Interest in production operations, system reliability and monitoring 

  • Initiative to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
