Join our team as a Parking Operations Specialist at Colorado School of Mines in sunny Golden, CO!

In this role, you'll be the go-to person for all things parking—helping out students, staff, and vendors with their parking needs. You'll lead and train a fantastic team of student staff, manage parking for exciting campus events, and keep our parking tech running smoothly. If you enjoy a mix of problem-solving, strategic planning, and working with great teams in Risk Management, Public Safety, Procurement, and Facilities Management, this is the perfect spot for you. Plus, you'll get to handle daily cash deposits and keep our fleet running efficiently.

Primary Duties

Customer Service

  • Provides Customer Service to the public via telephone, e-mail and in person
  • Monitors campus communications (eg.; Yik Yak, Twitter, Instagram, What’s your beef, Tik Tok, etc.) to see if parking issues can be addressed
  • Sends out citation notice and takes payments for citations and permits

Parking Software Management

  • Manages Security Desk and works with enforcement officer to resolve Security Desk back office software and field software issues
  • Uses Parking Management System (PMS) to set up new semester permits
  • Creates, monitors and maintains validation codes for departments
  • Verify pay station operations and make repairs if needed
  • Setup and maintain parking enforcement zones

Accounting and Reconciliation

  • Reconcile daily cash reports
  • Make deposits at the bursars office as needed
  • Creates, maintains and analyzes parking revenue/expense reports
  • Reports any financial discrepancies to the Business Manager and/or to the Manager of Parking & Fleet
  • Ensures monthly invoices are sent out  to departments that have parking validation codes.
  • Manages cash banks in parking pay stations

Data Base Management  

  • Develops email listservs, databases and maintains information and data needed by the Department Management and staff
  • Pull reports from Security Desk (Eg. Parking car totals, space counts)
  • Allocate semester permits for sale
  • Track Lot closure requests
  • Maintains the parking policy and keeps it current

                                                                                                                              

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or higher; relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis (particularly experience in accounting, budgeting, or bookkeeping)
  • Must have valid Colorado Driver’s license with no more than 8 points assessed
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Experience making strong customer service decisions, preferably within parking policy parameters
  • Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supervising full or part time staff
  • Experience in parking; including knowledge of garage and surface-lot parking operations, LPR, parking revenue, parking systems and technologies.
  • Ability to learn new database software quickly.
  • Experience in Higher Education

Salary and Benefits

$55,068 - $63,200
