The International Trade and Compliance (ITC) function at Northrop Grumman Australia is essential in ensuring all international business activities comply with Australian and global regulations. This team manages the export and import of goods, services, and technology, working closely with government agencies and internal stakeholders to maintain compliance and support smooth global operations.
Your Role
As an International Trade Compliance Expert, reporting to our Senior Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and managing robust internal compliance processes. You’ll assist to develop robust internal compliance processes to ensure the ITC team and NGA to comply with all applicable export controls legislation and regulations.
Your role includes setting up operational processes to guarantee compliance through gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, and shipments. Additionally, you'll be responsible for maintaining trade compliance records, supporting the legal department in resolving compliance issues, and implementing training and audit programs to ensure the effectiveness of our internal controls. You'll also generate performance metrics to continuously improve our export and import processes.
About You
You possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent experience and have demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within the defence sector. You are skilled in interpreting and providing guidance on Australian and US export and import regulations, particularly in the licensing of commodities, technical data, and defence services. Your ability to collaborate across functions and influence others is a key strength, as are your detail-oriented approach and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Your collaborative working style, ability to juggle multiple deadlines, and strong stakeholder engagement skills are the foundation of your success in this role.
