About the Role 

We seek driven, tech-savvy recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related fields to join our cutting-edge application support team. As a Junior Application Support Engineer you'll work on Thomson Reuters' impactful assets, collaborating with exceptional systems engineers, software developers, DevOps engineers, and technology managers. 

In this role, you'll apply educational skills to solve technical challenges leveraging technology and people skills.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • System Monitoring and Response: Monitoring the health and performance of systems, applications, and infrastructure, and responding to incidents or issues promptly to ensure high availability and reliability. 

  • Automation: Developing and implementing automation tools and processes to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency. 

  • Incident Management: Investigating and resolving incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures to avoid future occurrences. 

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices within the team and across the organization. 

  • Security and Compliance: Ensuring systems and processes comply with security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing changes, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. 

  • Leverage AI and ML technologies to find problems and fix them 

 

About You 

You’re a fit for the role of Junior Application Support Engineer if you have: 

  • Advanced English level
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. 
  • Passion for technology and a desire to continuously learn and adapt to new tools, languages, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to driving quality throughout the product engineering landscape. 
  • Innovative mindset and ability to contribute fresh ideas and unique perspectives to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. 
  • Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to delivering positive user experiences. 
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) domain and the broader technology landscape. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during incident and alert response situations. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. 
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team and across the organization. 
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities as the team and organization evolve.
