We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team who will have the opportunity to champion our Global Finance Transformation by providing quality analysis and insights for one of our most diverse and complex divisions within the company.  The position is primarily focused on consolidated business unit reporting and analysis.

This role supports the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) within Caterpillar. IPSD is responsible for the manufacturing and sale of Caterpillar's small to mid-sized engines that are used in various applications across the world.

What You Will Do:

  • Internal profit center accounting, focused on monthly reporting as well as quarterly forecast submissions.
  • Performing deep dives into various aspects of our business to deliver new insights on areas of opportunity for business improvement.
  • Maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports and identify and resolve discrepancies.

What You Have:

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience with EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) reporting tools such as Axiom or OneStream and ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) tools such as Alteryx highly preferred.
  • Experience with presentation and visualization tools such as Power BI.

Additional Info:

  • This position will be located in Schertz, TX
  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires a minimum of 3 days a week in office
