Open the door to your dream job and join #TeamMainStreet. With more than 40,000 homes in 30 markets, Main Street Renewal is one of the largest providers of single-family rental homes across the country. We understand that our employees are the invaluable drivers of our success. That's why we hire the most talented, passionate individuals who enjoy contributing to a growing, winning team. Here, you'll be a part of a fast-growing company dedicated to providing a best in class leasing and customer service experience to our residents.

Amherst is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the product strategy and delivery for our consumer-facing technology platforms and backend integration layer. You will be embedded with a cross-functional engineering team, driving the roadmap for our consumer website, middleware integration platform, and the third-party partner ecosystem that powers the full leasing funnel—from property listing syndication through tour scheduling, application processing, payment collection, and resident lifecycle management.

This role sits at the intersection of consumer experience, systems integration, and operational efficiency. You will partner with business stakeholders across Leasing, Property Management, Marketing, and Finance to translate business needs into a prioritized product roadmap while balancing new feature development, technical debt reduction, conversion optimization, and platform scalability across a large portfolio of single-family rental homes.

Who You Are

  • A Product Thinker. You see the forest and the trees. You connect business strategy to customer outcomes, define what to build and—just as importantly—what not to build. You think in terms of problems to solve, not features to ship.
  • Customer-Obsessed. You deeply understand the end user’s journey—prospective renters searching for homes, applicants completing a leasing process, and residents managing their daily living experience. You advocate for the customer in every prioritization decision.
  • Analytically Rigorous. You use data to prioritize. Conversion funnels, engagement metrics, operational efficiency, and cost-to-serve are your decision-making inputs. You are comfortable with A/B testing, funnel analysis, and ROI modeling.
  • A Creative Problem Solver. You think strategically about how to close product gaps, optimize the consumer experience, and reduce operational friction through automation and smarter workflows.
  • Cross-Functionally Effective. You collaborate naturally with Engineering, QA, Design, Marketing, Operations, and third-party vendors. You translate business requirements into clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Resilient and Adaptable. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift. You are open to feedback, learn from setbacks, and drive toward outcomes even when the path is ambiguous.
  • Disciplined in Delivery. You run tight sprints, maintain a clean backlog, hold the team to quality standards, and ensure every release includes proper documentation, testing, and stakeholder acceptance.

What You’ll Own

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and maintain a quarterly product roadmap that balances new feature delivery, platform optimization, technical debt reduction, and partner integrations
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business ROI, customer impact, and technical feasibility—backed by data, not assumptions
  • Conduct competitive analysis, user research, and stakeholder interviews to identify product gaps and opportunities in the single-family rental market
  • Own the product vision for the consumer website, including property search, listing presentation, leasing application flow, and resident self-service experiences
  • Drive the integration strategy for third-party vendor partnerships—defining requirements for data exchange, API contracts, and automation workflows between internal and external systems

Product Delivery & Execution

  • Lead Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives—for a team of software engineers and QA engineers on two-week sprint cycles
  • Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria, success metrics, and technical context sufficient for engineering to estimate and deliver confidently
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and coordinate integrated releases with other development squads working in parallel on shared platform components
  • Own release communication—sprint review presentations, release notes, and roadmap updates for VP-level leadership and business stakeholders
  • Ensure all deliveries meet quality standards including user acceptance testing, documentation, and formal business acceptance before production deployment

Consumer Experience Optimization

  • Own conversion optimization across the leasing funnel—from property search through tour booking, application completion, and lease execution
  • Drive SEO strategy and listing page performance to maximize organic lead acquisition and search visibility
  • Define requirements for syndication feed quality—ensuring property data, imagery, pricing, and promotions are accurately distributed to listing partners
  • Champion the resident experience—online payments, maintenance request submission, lease renewals, document management, and self-service workflows
  • Leverage analytics and session replay tools to identify friction points, prioritize UX improvements, and measure the impact of changes

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as the primary product voice for your team—translating technical progress and constraints into business-accessible language for executive stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with Leasing, Property Management, Marketing, and Finance to deeply understand their operational pain points and strategic goals
  • Facilitate trade-off discussions when competing priorities arise, ensuring decisions are transparent, data-informed, and aligned to business objectives
  • Proactively communicate risks, blockers, and scope changes—no surprises for leadership or business partners

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 5+ years of product management experience with consumer-facing web or mobile applications
  • Demonstrated experience managing products that involve multi-system integrations, third-party APIs, or middleware platforms
  • Strong Agile/Scrum practitioner—experienced with sprint planning, backlog management, story writing, and delivery execution using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Proven ability to define and prioritize a product roadmap based on business ROI, customer impact, and engineering capacity
  • Experience with web analytics, conversion optimization, and data-driven prioritization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—comfortable presenting to executive leadership and translating between business and technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Preferred

  • Experience in real estate technology, property management, or PropTech
  • Familiarity with property listing syndication and marketplace distribution strategies
  • Experience with payment processing platforms and related compliance considerations
  • Background working with CRM platforms as a product stakeholder (not necessarily as an administrator or developer)
  • Exposure to SEO strategy, content management systems, or search optimization for consumer marketplaces
  • Experience with conversational AI, chatbot platforms, or marketing automation tools
  • Familiarity with modern web application architectures (React, Node.js, headless CMS, API-driven platforms) at a conceptual level

Our full-time employee benefits include:

  • A competitive compensation package, annual bonus, 401k match

  • Flexible PTO including 7 paid holidays, 1 floating holiday, and 1 volunteer day

  • Employer-paid benefits (medical, dental, vision, health savings account)

  • Professional career development and reimbursement

  • Up to 16 weeks paid maternity leave; up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave

  • Backup childcare offered through Bright Horizons
