The Senior Product Marketer - EMEA will help position Franklin Templeton’s capabilities and products relevant for the EMEA market, research competitive trends in marketing those strategies, and drive marketing and promotional initiatives related to those strategies. This individual will ensure there is a clear and compelling marketing message including investment process, portfolio positioning and rationale for each strategy, especially as it relates to solving for the investment challenges of EMEA retail and institutional clients.
This individual will work closely with other EMEA Marketing and Distribution colleagues and act as a liaison on marketing specific matters, collaborating with Franklin Templeton’s Specialized Investment Managers’ marketing organizations and Global Advisory Services (“GAS”) Central Marketing Operations area to deliver content and address other potential issues.
Key to success in this role will be the ability to think outside of the box about marketing more complex strategies, as well as the ability to act nimbly and re-focus quickly as business needs evolve.
The Senior Product Marketer - EMEA will act as the central marketing authority for those relevant strategies and therefore must have a strong understanding of the markets relating to their respective strategies. They must be perceived as a credible source of investment related information pertaining to their covered strategies and must have a thorough understanding of all content available and or necessary to be developed in support of assisting EMEA distribution in selling and in promoting the respective strategies.
Develop messaging that positions Franklin Templeton’s capabilities for solving the needs of EMEA retail and institutional clients, such as capability presentations.
Develop and manage product collateral in collaboration with Specialized Investment Managers and EMEA distribution supporting all relevant products sold across EMEA.
Collaborate with Central Marketing Operations to lead development of new product materials, including EMEA pitchbooks, factsheets and web content for all relevant products. This includes collateral for fund launches.
Collaborates with EMEA Marketing to frame client campaigns content, and serves as the subject matter expert with Integrated Marketing on execution.
Ensure content for relevant strategies is consistent with core product messaging.
Obtain intimate knowledge of the investment philosophy and process of each strategy supported – including detailed understanding of current investment themes within the portfolio, knowledge of portfolio holdings, risk attributes of the strategy, past and current positioning of the portfolio, near-term outlook for the strategy and performance attribution in order to develop clear, consistent and pertinent collateral supporting solutions for challenges of our EMEA clients.
Collaborate with other EMEA Marketing team members and plays a key role in creating and reviewing relevant product collateral and reviewing landing pages, social media and emails concerning strategies.
Liaise with Central Marketing Operations and other data teams to ensure data and product collateral regarding a given product are accurate and appropriate.
Proofread and conduct quality assurance of product materials.
Execute other projects and special marketing assignments, as necessary.
Lead a dedicated team of two.
Education and experience
Experience within asset management / financial services is essential.
Strong track record in leading, retaining and developing a high performing team.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, CFA and/or MBA desirable.
10+ years in asset management, preferably in product specialist or product marketing roles.
In-depth knowledge of key asset classes such as equities and fixed income desired.
An understanding of economic and financial concepts and capital markets is essential.
Experienced in financial services and products, capital markets and economic trends.
Excellent understanding of marketing production process (including Compliance) and knowledge of digital marketing.
Strong understanding of the main distribution channels and clients, strong experience within the wealth management and institutional channel preferred.
Excellent writing, grammar and communication skills.
English native, additional language skills in French or German would be beneficial.
Strong project management skills.
Proficient in the use of Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Advantageous – MS Dynamics, Workday, Marketo (other marketing apps / on-line tools).
