Summary:

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities:

Delivers equipment to requesting staff or department. Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or neuro chair to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.Assists staff with lift assists and repositioning of patients when needed.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required. Other Information: **EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.
