GDIT has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Technician supporting GDIT Headquarters and executive-level customers. As a Senior Systems Technician, you will work in the Falls Church, Virginia office four (4+) days per week.
How a Senior Systems Technician will make an impact:
Provide new services and troubleshooting and restoring existing services
Perform on-site and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop problems for users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions
Provide support for: Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user and network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, and other products in order to deliver required desktop service levels
Provide mentorship and leadership for all team members
Willing to be the technical subject matter expert for other technicians
Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems
Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation network software products
Support users through ticketing, walk-up, deskside, and remote communications
Ensure that desktop connection, i.e. network jacks are in proper working order
Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop performance, then provide performance statistics and reports
If necessary, liaise with vendor and third-party support vendors
Be knowledgeable and provide support regarding conference room video infrastructure
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Associate's Degree or 2+ years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
8+ years of experience
In depth knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Windows 11 client hardware and software, and Apple mobile devices
Hardware troubleshooting experience
Working technical knowledge of basic network protocols, operating systems, and standards
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and guides
Strong customer service delivery and orientation
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to conduct research into PC and software issues and products as required
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
Location: MUST be willing to work in the Falls Church office four (4+) days per week
US Citizenship required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
