THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Fire Safety Service Technician/Project Engineer for our Fire Safety division at our Manchester branch. This hybrid role is part of Johnson Controls Global Marine & Offshore Service team, working alongside highly experienced service technicians in the service and maintenance of firefighting suppression systems. This UK-based role, predominantly within the marine industry, offers office-based work in Manchester and potential travel abroad. This unique and exciting opportunity provides comprehensive exposure to various aspects of fire safety and the chance for professional growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Planning and coordinating marine service jobs

- Project estimating and providing technical support

- Issuing work packs and technical documentation to technicians

- Issuing quotations to customers and obtaining quotes from suppliers

- Financial management of contracts

- Inspection, service, and maintenance of:

  • Fixed gaseous fire systems.

  • Water-foam based fire systems.

  • Wet chemical fire systems

  • Fire system cylinders.

- Safety equipment inspection and inventory recording

- Customer interaction and planning work scope

- Consulting with wider service teams

- Compiling service reports

- Performing additional duties as assigned by Management

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Essential:

- Experience in a similar role

- Proficiency in the inspection and service of fire protection and suppression systems

- Effective communication and numeracy skills

- Willingness to travel and work offshore

- Self-motivation with excellent IT skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Customer-focused mindset

- Knowledge of fire and safety legislation

- Keen interest in the Marine and Offshore fire safety industry

Preferred:

- Offshore survival certification (BOSIET)

- OG UK Medical certification
