Bid Manager – Strategic Deals

Role Overview

The Bid Manager leads the pursuit of large, complex, multi-tower deals, owning both strategy and execution across the full bid lifecycle. The role is accountable for converting high-value opportunities into winning outcomes by aligning stakeholders, shaping competitive positioning, and ensuring delivery of a compelling, compliant, and differentiated proposal.

Core Capabilities

This role requires a leader who operates beyond coordination acting as a strategic driver of the deal.

  • Strong ability to shape and influence deal strategy, including defining win themes, value proposition, and competitive positioning
  • Advanced stakeholder leadership, navigating executive-level alignment across Sales, Solutions, Finance, Legal, and global delivery teams
  • Deep understanding of complex IT services, system integration, and commercial constructs, with the ability to integrate solution, pricing, and delivery into a single coherent offer
  • Proven capability to lead under pressure, managing ambiguity, tight deadlines, and high-risk decision environments
  • High level of commercial acumen, including risk awareness, affordability, and deal structuring

These capabilities reflect the expectation that the Senior Bid Manager actively drives strategy, not just execution

Leadership & Proactiveness Expectations

The Senior Bid Manager is expected to demonstrate strong ownership and forward-thinking behavior:

  • Takes early control of opportunities, proactively influencing deal shaping before and after RFP release
  • Anticipates risks, gaps, and dependencies, addressing them before they impact the bid
  • Drives momentum across the pursuit, ensuring teams remain aligned, accountable, and delivery-focused
  • Challenges stakeholders constructively to improve solution quality, competitiveness, and positioning
  • Operates as the single point of accountability for the bid outcome, maintaining full visibility across all workstreams

Execution Excellence

While highly strategic, the role maintains strong execution discipline:

  • Ensures end-to-end governance compliance and adherence to DXC bid processes
  • Maintains full control over timelines, quality, and submission readiness
  • Oversees development of a high-quality, cohesive proposal narrative aligned with client expectations
  • Drives structured review cycles and ensures final deliverables are consistent, complete, and competitive

Experience Profile

  • 8–15+ years in bid management, pursuit management, or complex deal environments
  • Proven track record leading large-scale ($100M+) strategic pursuits
  • Strong exposure to government or complex enterprise procurement environments
  • Demonstrated success in influencing senior stakeholders and closing high-value deals

Role Positioning

This role represents the shift from bid execution to deal leadership where success is defined not only by submission quality, but by the ability to shape, influence, and win complex strategic opportunities.
