Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete new product development, portfolio maintenance and/or productivity projects with an emphasis on meeting the desired consumer experience.

How you will contribute

With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements and development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation etc.). You will also write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and that lead to conclusions and recommendations and create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications.

Job Summary:

  • The R&D Engineer I in Beverages Brazil is responsible for bringing technical support on different types of projects with a focus on reformulation, new products development, quality improvement and core maintenance for Tang, Clight, Fresh and Verao brands, being a business partner to guarantee the right product for our beloved consumers.

  • The position is based in Curitiba Tech Center however, the person will take part of a R&D regional team and could have additional responsibilities in some LA Beverages activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products focusing on raw material Productivity and NPDs initiatives. Also being responsible for activities related to reformulations due to legislation changes or even to achieve cost reductions, process improvements / validations, quality improvements, and on development of new raw materials and/or suppliers. It is under developers’ responsibility as well to generate technical projects reports according to technical guidelines using the Mondelēz Knowledge Management tools.

  • Coordinate and execute trials (Pilot scale or production lines), ensuring proper control and monitoring of the product, according to the project scope.

  • Assure product and process design (formulas, processes, specifications), according to the R&D guidelines, Mondelez policies and local regulations based on each product classification and country.

  • Ensure accuracy of all documents related to R&D (formulas, specifications, HACCP, procedures, etc), as well as their appropriate communication to the other areas involved.

  • Follow PCM process, being able to take projects from ideas to commercialization -Commissioning, Qualification, Verification (CQV) process, guaranteeing compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements.

  • Guarantee the proper management of resources related to assigned projects, it includes raw materials, trials costs. headcounts and timing, among others.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Food Engineering, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in R&D product/process/packaging development, Quality or manufacturing for any Mondelēz Category in Curitiba site.

  • English proficiency and Spanish as nice to have.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to details.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple task/projects simultaneously.
