Role Overview

  • The selected candidate will join the London-based EMEA Investment Risk team responsible for investment risk oversight. The Investment Risk function is a global one, reporting to the CRO.
  • The candidate will have financial knowledge across global fixed income and equity asset classes.
  • The candidate will be a strong team player who can manage multiple priorities and perform complex analysis under tight deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be primarily supporting the EMEA Investment Risk team to be an independent, effective, and insightful partner to the Portfolio managers. This involves assisting and challenging them on portfolio construction, through analysing exposure concentrations, risk drivers, stress tests and liquidity indicators to highlight any concerns. This will require keeping up to date on market movements and the implications on the portfolios based on their positioning.
  • An understanding of the analytic calculations around all fixed income and derivatives instruments at the security and portfolio level is a plus. 
  • To support the team with handling day-to-day ad-hoc queries from global stakeholders
  • To support the team with various BAU daily and monthly processes & reports in a timely and accurate manner as well as to take the initiative to enhance these processes and to develop new kinds of analysis that are value-add to the team.
  • The candidate will be involved in projects in relation with the overall expertise of the global investment risk group.
  • The candidate will interact with several teams including Portfolio Managers, Information Technology, Client Services, RFP, ESG, Legal and the other risk teams across the world.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of exposure to financial markets. Some exposure to Fixed Income related analytics is required. A willingness and interest to expand their knowledge of investment processes, including on ESG matters. 
  • Strong analytical and financial quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to interact and build effective working relationships with peers and various stakeholders as the firm’s environment is one dedicated to collegial support aimed at serving our clients.
  • Proactive in following up on queries, be teamwork oriented and also be able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is a must as well as some experience using Python and/or SQL.
  • Experience using Blackrock Aladdin and understanding of various risk models is a plus.
  • Knowledge of UCITS and broad ESG regulations is a plus. 
  • Interest in seeking the FRM or CFA certifications.
  • Must conduct the role with integrity, due care and diligence.
