A day in the life.

As our Absence Management Consultant on the MMA Midwest Consulting Practice and Absence, Disability & Life practice, you’ll be the expert guiding middle market and larger employers through the complexities of absence and disability management. You’ll provide consultative support, thought leadership, and strategic solutions that protect and grow our client relationships. From managing carrier partnerships and customizing RFPs to educating clients on leave policies and compliance, you’ll play a vital role in delivering tailored absence management strategies. You’ll also collaborate with internal teams to share best practices and drive bundled client solutions, all while staying ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Our future colleague.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a thought leader in absence management, consulting, account management, and/or claims operations
  • Strong working knowledge of voluntary benefits, leave and statutory administration, and local, state, and federal mandated leave laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing carrier relationships and building carrier panels
  • Ability to customize and analyze client-specific RFPs and prepare proposal summaries
  • Skilled in educating clients on paid leave policies, statutory plans, and competitive plan design
  • Proficiency in managing project plans and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Life & Health license preferred, or the ability to obtain upon hire
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all these boxes. Don’t be shy. If you’re close, we’d be very interested in meeting you.

A Great Place to Work. A Great Place to Perk.

Recognized for workplace culture by the likes of Fortune Magazine, The Chicago Tribune and more, our colleagues enjoy an environment that fosters creativity as well as individual and organizational growth. A small sampling of the benefits our colleagues enjoy include:

  • Up to $1,000 per year in matching charitable donations

  • All the nitro cold brew coffee and sparkling water you can drink
  • A company-wide mentality that you can never appreciate your co-workers too much

Who You Are is Who We Are

MMA Midwest has created an award-winning culture largely due to meeting our colleagues where they are, celebrating their differences and building an inclusive environment. We challenge ourselves to create a workplace where our colleagues feel not only welcomed, but feel they belong; where we not only embrace diverse perspectives and opinions but seek them out; and where we ask not how a colleague fits our culture, but what they add to it.

Marsh McLennan and its affiliates are EOE Minority/Female/Disability/Vet/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity employers.
