Join us as our new Supplier Sustainability Engagement Specialist (for a more experienced applicant a recalibration to "Lead" is possible)!

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated team member to lead our supplier engagement efforts - one of the pillar stones of Novonesis' Scope 3 decarbonization journeyYou will work in close collaboration with the Program Manager, Group Sustainability, and the Direct and Indirect Procurement teams to drive supplier engagements and run specific data- and action- focused initiatives that will deliver tangible impact. 

On a high level, the position holder has the responsibility for: 

  • Driving supplier sustainability engagements for climate action 

  • Scope 3 data collection and continuous improvement 

  • Project planning and delivery on specific initiatives 

  • Internal & external stakeholder engagement and alignment  

Drive supplier sustainability engagements for climate action 

  • Work together with Procurement category managers to drive and keep momentum for supplier dialogues and actions on decarbonization 

  • Collaborate with suppliers on specific short-term and long-term sustainability initiatives 

  • Monitor existing initiatives and help build business cases for new initiatives 

  • Contribute to the standardization of supplier engagement frameworks and toolboxes 

  • Monitor and advance KPIs for Scope 3 emissions in Procurement  

  • Develop support materials and provide guidance for suppliers  

 

Scope 3 data collection and continuous improvement 

  • Continuous improvement of Scope 3 data quality in Procurement 

  • Streamline primary data collection for Scope 3 measurement and data management 

  • Work with Group Sustainability and LCA specialists to validate and improve data 

  • Serve as the super user for the Scope 3 related digital procurement systems 

  • Monitor and report on progress towards Scope 3 emissions reduction targets

  • Contribute to supplier assessments and the integration of carbon pricing 

 

Project Planning and Delivery on specific initiatives 

  • Project management of specific initiatives in collaboration with category managers 

  • Build business cases and CO2 reduction scenarios within Procurement 

 

Internal and external stakeholder engagement and alignments 

  • Collaboration and alignment with group and operations sustainability functions within Novonesis 

  • Participate in and contribute to external knowledge sharing and industry efforts 

  • Proactively identify opportunities for value-added collaborations both internally and externally

Educational background and other qualifications sought: 

  • Preferably a Master’s degree with exposure to supply chain management, engineering, sustainability, or ESG  

  • Seniority: preferably +3 years of experience within Consulting, Project Management, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Corporate sustainability or similar

  • Understanding of Scope 3 emissions, emission factors, product carbon footprints is desirable 

  • Working experience with Scope 3 accounting, supplier engagement on decarbonization, LCA is preferable, but not mandatory 

  • Experience working directly with suppliers on ESG-related or other development projects is advantageous 

  • Good understanding of end-to-end processes related to procurement and/or supply chain is preferable 

  • Collaborative, curious, entrepreneurial mindset and a positive can-do attitude 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured way of working 

  • Strong ability to translate complex problems into simple(r) concepts and communicate effectively 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills 

  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity 

  • Fluency in English (is a prerequisite)
