ENGINE PROGRAMMER INTERN

What You'll Do

We are looking for a programmer with a passion for web development to work on the frontend of Unreal’s Horde build system. This frontend is a critical part of the Fortnite team’s workflows, giving you the exciting opportunity to have a big impact on the productivity of many of its developers. You will be responsible for iterating on the UI of various areas including build results, tests and analytics. You will work alongside our experienced build team to develop valuable usability improvements and will collaborate with the Fortnite team to ensure workflows are as smooth as possible.

In this role, you will

  • Get up to speed with Horde and it’s web frontend
  • Work with the team to identify pain points in the current workflows
  • Iterate on the UI and UX of the various parts of the Horde frontend
  • Actively work with the Build and Fortnite teams, to brainstorm and fix any bottlenecks

What we're looking for

  • Good knowledge and experience programming projects in JavaScript or an equivalent language is a must have
  • Knowledge of React and Typescript is a plus
  • A passion for web development
  • An interest in user experience and UI design
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

This internship has a flexible start date in 2025. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
