Job Description:

Dosimetrist Cert

Calculates computerized isodose plans for radiation oncology patients. Computes standard dose calculations and determines computerized generation of isodose curves for external beam radiation treatment programs. Calculates treatment machine settings, documents calculations, and records treatment data in therapy chart

  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position

  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Demonstrates clinical radiation oncology skills including linear accelerator treatments, computerized treatment planning, simulation, ultrasound and low-dose-rate Brachytherapy
  • Demonstrates independent judgment and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, with and without direct supervision
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills, mathematical and computer background, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in prioritizing assignments
  • Familiar with and maintains knowledge of the physical and geometric characteristics of the radiation therapy equipment and radioactive sources commonly used in the RTC

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by Medical Dosimetry Certification Board
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)

EXPERIENCE

  • Three years (3) recent experience in Medical Dosimetry
  • Previous experience with current planning system SBRT/SRS/3-D capability preferred
  • Previous experience in CT Simulation preferred
