Role Description:
We are looking for an Associate FP&A Manager of Operations to join our small but dynamic and fast-paced team. This role will be an integral part of the finance team, providing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business partner support for our Operations and Merchant Care teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: detailed labor, VCPO (variable cost per order), site metrics and profitability, facility cost analysis, headcount and OPEX analysis and approvals, as well as month-end close analysis, board presentations, and other ad-hoc analysis as needed. The Associate Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that the company is able to execute its strategic plans and achieve profitable growth.
This role will be the main liaison between Finance and the Operations team, enhancing our ability to forecast, set targets, and measure operational cost performance across the company. This role will also partner with others on the FP&A team to enhance profit analysis, reporting, and forecasting and will also aid in other strategic projects & ad-hoc work as necessary.
What you’ll do:
- Complete thorough analysis on the P&L each month and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan to senior management.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board highlighting key business metrics, variance to budget and other relevant trends.
- Prepare the annual operating plan by engaging with VPs to build appropriate plans and targets and convert this into the financial budget.
- Collaborate with partners to strategize and report on weekly performance, especially related to Operations.
- Manage relationships with Operations team to build bottoms up forecasts and provide areas of risks and opportunities,
- Provide insightful study of key operational business metrics, develop margin and COGS analysis, and communicate findings to respective business partners.
- Utilize professional knowledge, business acumen, financial concepts, and company objectives to develop and improve models and procedures.
- Complete continuous improvement and automation in existing files and processes. Find feasible workarounds to complicated files.
- Continuously work with management to deliver improvements in the company's approach to developing key strategies.
- Independently and proactively provide solutions to business needs in creative and effective ways. Investigate and help optimize investments behind key company strategies.
- Become a team leader - mentor new coworkers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
- Network with stakeholders across the company to gain a better understanding of the key objectives and how you can help achieve them.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related degree.
- 6-8 years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or another related field.
- Must have: Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
- Must have: 3PL or other relevant industry experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to various stakeholders.
- High comfort level with NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and Power Query is preferred.
- Enjoy nurturing business partnerships with senior management and teams.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines within time constraints and detail oriented.
- Able to think critically about business challenges while simultaneously absorbing new knowledge and information.
- Have a passion for results and love getting into the details, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. We are targeting a salary range of $105,000-$135,000 for this role. The full base pay range for this position in our architecture is $101,000 - $168,000.
