Position Description

Saddle Creek Logistics Services is seeking an Analyst, Business Solutions at our Lakeland, FL location.  This position will be a part of a team supporting the business for key operations throughout the network.  This person will analyze key operations throughout the network by running reports on KPIs, P&L statements, wages, real estate and other operating reports.  This person will then present findings to key operations personnel, so data driven decisions can be made.

Responsibilities

  • Is or becomes knowledgeable about third party logistics and/or warehouse and transportation operations
  • Conducts or assists with financial/pricing analysis
  • Compare historical pricing elements with original pricing and cost models
  • Support periodic business reviews by preparing executive summaries for operational presentations
  • Works with Softeon, Infor, TruckMate and Mercury Gate Systems and MicroStrategy, Data Bricks, and/or other Business Intelligence tools to analyze data
  • Collaborate with continuous improvement, operations, and engineering regarding performance variances
  • Recognize critical issues and prioritize time and task accordingly
  • Proactively resolves issues or seek solutions from team members
  • Assists with cost model updates
  • Continually improves knowledge of Saddle Creek’s transportation and distribution models to improve your ability to analyze operations
  • Create ad hoc reports as needed
  • Provide other support as needed by manager

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or Business Analytics preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience related to data analysis and reporting; Logistics experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and/ or 3rd party logistics preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with a consistent proclivity to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and contracts
  • Must be able to work autonomously
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills; must be able to multi-task, problem solve, prioritize and work under pressure
  • Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) and present information to senior management, clients, and vendors; ability to influence others
  • Must be able to travel (5% of the time)
