Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Engineering Business Operations team is seeking a Senior Management System and Integration Specialist (level 4) to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The BCA Engineering Business Operations team is seeking a highly motivated Business Operations Specialist - Management System Extraordinaire to join our team in North Charleston, SC. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative team! Opportunities abound in this high visibility role, where the successful candidate is an integral part of the business strategy, planning, decision making, operations, and performance management of BCA Engineering.

An effective performance management and decision structure is the foundation of any successful Boeing organization, and this role offers the unique opportunity to learn the Engineering business from the inside out. This role provides Business Operations support for the Director of Engineering for the 787 program. This role requires a system thinking mindset and the ability to work autonomously and lead through influence to implement and execute a management system and operating rhythm of the Engineering Organization.

Successful candidates are natural self-starters who can quickly adapt strategies, plans, and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. Candidates must be strong communicators and able to collaborate cross-functionally to build positive relationships while providing the structure required to enable the achievement of business priorities. Selected candidates will lead the continuous improvement and execution of the BCA Engineering performance, decision, and management structure. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, event management skills, and business acumen are crucial to success.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads and/or assists in the development of strategies, proposals, and processes to solve problems, and mitigate risk to meet business goals.
  • Analyzes data and collaborates with subject matter experts to provide actionable business intelligence.
  • Supports the coordination of initiatives and teams with business partners to settle scope, clarify analysis and validate results to develop business cases and meet long range business goals.
  • Coordinates commitments with internal and external organizations to meet project milestones.
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation where appropriate, makes recommendations, and refines the project plans as needed.
  • Meets with leadership to provide awareness and/or gain approval.
  • Develops executive level briefings.
  • Leads and mentors 787 Engineering support staff and staff analyst community.
  • Leads Rate Readiness for 787 program engineering.
  • Leverages organizational skills and attention to detail to develop and execute the management system/operating rhythm for the Director of Engineering.
  • Collects, organizes, analyzes data, and provides business intelligence according to established processes within the management system to maintain status of programs, customer and supplier commitments and compliance.
  • Ensures follow up action for issue resolution.
  • Organizes and leads through influence the Engineering Management System and Integration community and provides coaching and guidance to less experienced personnel.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years’ experience working in business operations, or finance related or planning related field.
  • 5+ years of experience collecting, interpreting data, developing, and presenting recommendations to the executive level and leading high-level projects for Executives or Sr. Leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and communicating recommendations to executive level management.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a dynamic work environment, to include managing multiple priorities.
  • 5+ years of experience developing relationships and negotiating commitments with other functional organizations.

Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience performing as a chief of staff, executive business analyst, performance management, strategy, program management, or business operations role.
  • 5+ years of experience working across multiple programs and/or functions.
  • Experience developing and integrating strategic projects, plans, and initiatives to meet business goals.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration/Management, or business-related field.
  • MBA, MS in Organizational Leadership or similar.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in a role that required communication, technical writing, presentation development, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing projects and using standard project management tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of work time.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the location listed.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
