About the Role

Provide oversight of the operational risk profile of the organization and work with the business to identify material risks requiring management attention so as to support the business to make well informed decision by anticipating and mitigating risks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate the Operational Risk Committee and other relevant management committees
  • Partner with risk owners to drive the identification and assessment, management and response, monitoring, and controls of operational risks on key initiatives and projects
  • Coordinate with risk owners to conduct risk and control assessment, perform independent operational risk assessment and provide quality assurance on the efficiency of key controls
  • Assist in preparing regular risks reports to ensure key operational risks are appropriately addressed in Risk Committees
  • Lead and handle the operational risk incident reporting.  Ensure operational risk incident is well handled and mitigation/preventive actions have been implemented.
  • Promote a strong risk awareness and culture through regular communication to staff and distribution channels and delivery of training
  • Be a key player of the Outsourcing Committee & Outsourcing  Workgroup to provide advice to local functions on key matters / assessments related to outsourcing arrangement from operational risk perspective and prepare meeting materials and minutes
  • Ensure adherence to group and company policies and standards
  • Support the implementation of Operational Risk Management Framework and Risk Taxonomy as directed by AIA Group from time to time.
  • Support and coordinate the Risk Management & Compliance Certification, Control Environment Assessment, Operational Risk Charge Assessment
  • Support relevant reporting in operational risk related systems (e.g. eGRC, TPMS, IRIS).  
  • Support the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process related to Operational Risk and develop tools to quantify the top risks for prioritization
  • Support the ESG-related matters from Operational Risk perspective
  • Conduct timely and accurate communications to various stakeholders such as internal parties, Group Office, regulators, auditors, etc

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree in Business Management/ Economics/ Finance and Accounting.
  • At least 8 years of Risk Management/ Internal Audit/ Compliance experiences in life insurance/ financial industries.
  • Knowledge of insurance business operations.
  • Work independently and be able to lead/facilitate projects and business initiative.
  • Critical thinking and ability of influencing
  • Multi-tasking ability and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be a good team player.

  • The incumbent is required to obtain relevant license if the job involves in regulated activities.
