An integration engineering technician on our team: Provides technical support to engineering innovation by performing activities such as test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, you will directly support Blue Origin’s innovation teams working to develop new, state-of-the-art technologies and systems needed to advance human spaceflight. Responsibilities include general fabrication, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems where you will apply your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to support low-risk projects, systems, and critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineers to execute design concepts, provide hands-on support for ease of assembly, and support development tests.

  • Follow work instructions for assembly tasks and steps for mechanical and/or electrical installations.

  • Safely work with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high pressure.

  • Maintain a clean work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a mechanical or electrical field

  • Experience working with standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment, Band saw, Cornice Break, Tube Bender\Flaring and facing machines and Drill Press.

  • Experience with pressurized system safety.

  • Ability to read and understand 2D/3D drawings.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Must be physically able to:

  • Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas.

  • Lift and carry 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace or related field.

  • Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling systems, work order systems, inventory and various issue tracking systems.

  • Working knowledge of a variety of tube/fluid applications including GN2, GHe, hydraulics and cryogenics.

  • Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems.

  • Experience operating in clean rooms.

  • Experience in tube bending.

  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $29.03-$40.65

Other site ranges may differ
