Role Summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a Sr Software Engineer who has a passion, vision and technical acumen to help meet the needs of the Individual Investors Secure Digital Experience business.  You’ll be hands-on coding through the entire development lifecycle as well as leading an Agile team of back-end and front-end developers. We are transforming client experiences through cloud computing, lightweight Java microservices, single-page application front ends (React/Angular), and highly resilient software services.
 

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of Java microservice development and strong AWS experience You will:

  • Design and develop solutions working with other internal groups such as architecture, dev ops and enterprise security to ensure alignment with enterprise technology direction and standards.
  • Contribute to code reviews and provide feedback

Business Knowledge

  • Experience working directly with business partners
  • Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
     

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of progressive Java development
  • Expertise designing, developing, deploying, and supporting java-based solutions
  • Able to quickly learn new technologies and stay abreast of industry trends
  • Able to work with existing data models and schemas and suggest changes and improvements
  • Experience in AWS cloud technologies

Preferred:

  • Experience with ReactJS or other JavaScript framework
  • Financial services/asset management domain experience
  • Experience mentoring and leading development teams

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for full time remote work.

Base salary ranges:

$144,000.00 - $247,000.00 for the location of: California, New York
$127,000.00 - $217,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$115,500.00 - $197,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the roleBase salary is only one component of our total compensation packageEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
