Position Description
Corporate Actions is a key operational unit at PIMCO, responsible for processing all mandatory and voluntary Corporate Action events on behalf of our clients. We serve as an integral link between our Portfolio Management, Legal & Compliance, Account Management, and IMS Operations teams.
As a Corporate Actions Senior Associate, you will manage the lifecycle of all voluntary events, including tenders, exchanges, Dutch auctions, consent solicitations, disclosures, conversions, optional puts, and dividend reinvestments. Other responsibilities may include Proxy Voting, Class Action litigations, Bank Loans, or Defaulted Securities. This role offers considerable exposure to senior colleagues and the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with some of the most experienced professionals in the investment management industry. You will also be exposed to various asset types, continually challenging you to expand your knowledge and expertise.
The role includes identifying and mitigating risks associated with corporate actions processing, developing and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy, and managing relationships with vendors and custodians. This position offers the opportunity to develop risk management and vendor data management skills. As a team member, you will contribute to the development of best practices and participate in strategic initiatives aimed at improving the overall effectiveness of the corporate actions function.

Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure all aspects of voluntary corporate action, proxy, and class action events are thoroughly and accurately completed prior to deadlines
Familiarity with bankruptcy, bank loans, and restructure events
Collaborate with internal colleagues in our Portfolio Management, Credit Research, Legal & Compliance, Account Management, and IMS Operations teams
Conduct daily reviews of corporate action events through reporting discussed with internal and external constituents
Monitoring and reviewing all Class Action litigation material from multiple sources for potential account impact
Reviewing Defaulted securities notifications and obtaining proper adjustments from Portfolio Management
Position Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mandatory and voluntary corporate actions and full asset servicing lifecycle for global assets, including an understanding of the impact of corporate events on various financial instruments and asset classes, risks, and related process controls and escalation frameworks
Overall, 3-7 years of professional experience within the financial services or investment management industry focused on investment management operations or trade support operations
Knowledge of multiple asset classes and how they are used in portfolios, including a strong understanding of fixed income fundamentals
Experience with Proxy, Class Actions and/or Data Management desirable
Standard MS Office knowledge
Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
Knowledge of Bloomberg Data and other financial service data vendors
Exposure or hands-on experience with SQL, VBA, Python
