Position Summary
The Country HR Lead for Emerging Markets serves as the strategic HR representative and trusted advisor to local business leaders, ensuring the consistent execution of HP’s people strategy and values across the assigned markets
As an individual contributor, the role partners closely with the Country Leadership Team, Regional HR Operations, Global HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and compliance with local labor laws.
This position is pivotal in balancing strategic insight with hands-on delivery, ensuring HR programs are effectively localized while maintaining alignment with HP’s regional and global priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strengthen the Business Partner Role Across the Full Employment Cycle
- Partner with business and functional leaders to deliver integrated HR solutions across the employee lifecycle — attract, develop, engage, and retain talent.
- Act as a strategic advisor by providing people insights, workforce analytics, and recommendations that drive business outcomes.
- Collaborate with HR COEs to execute initiatives in talent management, rewards, learning, and performance management.
- Anticipate organizational needs and proactively address workforce risks, succession, and capability development.
2. Enhance Impact as Country HR and Active Member of Key Leadership Councils
- Country Leadership Team (CLT): Provide strategic and influential HR insights to shape country-wide people and business strategies.
- Integrity Council (ER): Champion HP’s culture of integrity by role-modeling ethical behavior and fostering a values-driven workplace.
- Compliance Council (Compliance): Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant, effective, and aligned with local labor legislation and HP standards.
- Crisis Management Team (CMT): Maintain organizational readiness with the right structure, processes, and roles to provide HR leadership and frontline support during crises.
(Note: Participation in Labor Relations (LR) will evolve as union structures are established in the future.)
3. Collaborate and Influence Across Global HR Functions
- Partner with Global HRBPs and COEs to ensure alignment, consistency, and excellence in program delivery across assigned markets.
- Localize and implement global HR initiatives considering country-specific laws, market dynamics, and cultural context.
- Serve as the country HR focal point in regional and global HR projects to represent country needs and ensure effective deployment.
4. Represent the Country in Global HR Initiatives and External Forums
- Act as the voice in HP’s global HR community to strengthen visibility, influence, and country representation.
- Participate in global and regional HR forums, networks, and projects to share insights and best practices.
- Build trusted partnerships with local business leaders, government bodies, and external stakeholders as the face of HP HR in the assigned markets.
5. Build Organizational Capability and HR Excellence
- Support capability building by coaching and advising local managers on leadership, performance, and people management.
- Promote HP’s culture of inclusion, growth mindset, and employee well-being.
- Ensure operational HR excellence, accuracy in HR data, and compliance with audit and legal standards.
- Continuously improve HR processes to drive efficiency, agility, and employee experience across the assigned markets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8–12 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multinational organization or regional HR role.
- Solid understanding of local labor laws, practices, and statutory frameworks in the assigned markets.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and influence across functions and geographies.
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and execution capability.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local language is an advantage.
