Job Description

The Merchant Rebate Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end administration of post signature merchant rebate agreements, from contract setup through payment processing. This role requires strong analytical skills to accurately calculate rebates across a variety of agreement structures, both manually and by validating outputs from an automated calculator. The Analyst will work across multiple systems including Tableau, Excel, Salesforce, and NetSuite and play a key role in supporting the company's ongoing transition to a more automated rebate process.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Review and interpret new merchant contracts to identify rebate agreement terms, structures, and eligibility requirements
  • Set up and maintain merchant/vendor profiles in Tableau, Excel, and NetSuite upon execution of new contracts
  • Manually calculate merchant rebates for complex or non-standard agreements that fall outside the automated calculator
  • Perform periodic sampling and testing of the automated rebate calculator to validate accuracy and investigate variances
  • Maintain Excel-based calculation workbooks for manual rebates, ensuring accuracy, auditability, and version control
  • Prepare and transmit NACHA-formatted ACH files to facilitate timely rebate payments to merchants, reconciling payment files against calculated amounts prior to submission
  • Post rebate-related bills and journal entries in NetSuite accurately and in accordance with the close calendar
  • Support the ongoing migration of manual rebate calculations into the automated calculator, including data validation and parallel testing
  • Document calculation methodologies and standard operating procedures for both manual and automated processes
  • Maintain organized records of merchant contracts, rebate calculations, and payment support for audit purposes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Ops, Sales, Finance, and IT teams on rebate-related matters

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, revenue operations, rebates, commissions, or a related analytical role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data validation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing reconciliations across multiple systems
  • Ability to interpret contracts and translate business terms into accurate calculations and payment processes
  • Experience working with ERP, CRM, or reporting platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Tableau, or similar systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Sales, Operations, and Technology teams
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and support automation initiatives
