You will be joining a talented and high performing Group Finance Team. The key purpose of this role is to help develop the Society’s stress testing capabilities, governance and infrastructure; ensuring that outputs are accurate, complete, timely and insightful and that a strong governance framework is maintained.

What Will You Be Doing?

As the Society Stress Testing Senior Lead, you will work in partnership with various stakeholders to ensure that the Group’s approach to stress testing within the agreed framework evolves with the business and capability is fit for the future. You will be;

  • Accountable as Senior Lead for the bottom-up modelling of the Society’s quarterly stress testing forecasting and annual ICAAP cycle, liaising with the Homes and Money Finance team to agree key business assumptions and working with the Capital and Group Stress Testing team to deliver financial trajectory of first line net stress scenario(s).
  • Through the stress testing work identify any balance sheet or strategic vulnerabilities and provide potential improvements / solutions.
  • Accountable for the delivery of all supporting documentation including ExCo and Board papers.
  • Responsible for maintaining robust levels of skills and knowledge to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.

What Do We Need From You?

Experience

  • Direct experience of delivering stress testing for a bank or building society is desirable.
  • 2+ years of experience in finance roles with a financial planning and analysis focus.

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Financial Planning and Analysis and technical accounting knowledge.
  • Strong working knowledge of finance systems such as but not exclusively – QRM, Workday (Adaptive Planning) and Excel.
  • Good commercial understanding and ability to translate operational plans into financial outcomes.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly interpret and concisely explain the impact on the Society of complex accounting and technical matters.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and modelling skills, enabling complex models to be understood and appropriately challenged.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships both within the team and across the Society in order to achieve objectives.
