About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our go-to-market (GTM) strategy, competitive positioning, and sales enablement efforts as they relate to Microsoft technologies and offerings. This individual will be instrumental in helping shape how we position our platform—technically and strategically—with Microsoft’s consolidation efforts, with a focus on licensing, product differentiation, and executive-level engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Competitive Intelligence & Positioning: Serve as an in-house expert on Microsoft licensing, infrastructure, and strategic positioning. Develop competitive insights and articulate Proofpoint’s unique value against and with Microsoft consolidation efforts, working in conjunction with the Competitive Intelligence team.
- GTM Content & Strategy: Partner with product marketing, competitive intelligence, and product teams to craft compelling messaging, sales collateral, and technical positioning.
- Executive Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor in top strategic deals, supporting CISO/CIO-level engagements with deep Microsoft ecosystem expertise.
- Field Enablement: Equip account managers and sales engineers with the tools, messaging, and training needed to position our solutions effectively.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with marketing, product, and engineering teams to feed field insights into product strategy, inform roadmap decisions, and increase competitive win rates.
- Microsoft GTM Collaboration: Partner with leadership to evolve our Microsoft GTM strategy, influence field sales alignment, and develop joint messaging and training programs.
- Thought Leadership: Represent the company in key conversations around platform value, Microsoft competitive strategy, and technical differentiation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in or with Microsoft programs, particularly in licensing, technical infrastructure, or GTM execution.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft enterprise solutions and the strategic impact of their consolidation approach.
- Experience in competitive positioning—both supporting and competing with Microsoft offerings.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate complex product capabilities into clear value propositions.
- Executive presence and communication skills suitable for engaging C-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across marketing, product, engineering, and field organizations.
- Prior experience in cybersecurity or enterprise software is a strong plus.
Preferred Background:
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in technical product marketing, sales engineering, strategic alliances, or similar roles.
- Background in Microsoft partner ecosystem or roles directly aligned with Microsoft GTM motions.
- Experience with enablement and sales content creation.
