About the Role & Team
 
The Director, Corporate & Strategic Events will lead the creation and execution of impactful brand experiences for both internal and external audiences. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across the organization to co-create the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a diverse range of events. These include company kick-offs, customer advisory boards, executive summits, executive briefing center meetings, premium customer experiences, and our participation in top-tier industry trade shows. This position reports directly to the VP of Corporate Marketing.
 
As a Director, Corporate & Strategic Events, you will:
  • Drive event strategy: Develop and execute the strategy, production, roadmaps, project management, and budgets for internal and external corporate events.
  • Manage event execution: Oversee the delivery and experience of strategic in-person and virtual events for customers, prospects, and employees.
  • Engage multiple stakeholders: Present, promote, and drive executive buy-in for decisions internally and externally, regularly keeping teams informed and updated.
  • Oversee logistics: Support the team to manage overall logistics for events, including space allocation, risk minimization, technology staffing, swag, signage, and communications.
  • Partner with agencies: Cultivate deep relationships with best-in-class agencies to enhance event experiences.
  • Extend the brand experience: Bring creativity and innovation to the Amplitude brand experience to foster advocacy from employees, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate project management excellence: Apply proficient project management skills to ensure all milestones are achieved on time and on budget before, during, and after events.
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
  • 10+ years of experience delivering unique, brand-defining moments through enterprise/technology/SaaS strategic events—as well as executive briefing center programs and sales/internal kick-offs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work with C-suite executives to produce and deliver world-class events.
  • A love for and understanding of event content and the ability to identify the right partners for content direction and development.
  • Experience working in both digital and in-person event environments, with in-depth knowledge of managing internal and external production teams.
  • Expertise with agency coordination, vendor RFP and management, budget tracking, and internal tech-team enablement.
  • Strong leadership and execution capability for end-to-end event planning.
  • A data-driven approach to setting goals, measuring KPIs, communicating milestones, and collaborating to showcase the outcomes of each event to stakeholders.

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $222,000 - $333,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
