We are looking for a Product Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of security architectures across our product portfolio. This role plays a critical part in integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), guiding product teams with hands-on expertise, and defining scalable, standards-based security practices that align with evolving threats and technologies.
Responsibilities
Oversee and Mature Threat Modeling Programs: Lead and enhance our existing threat modeling practices. Integrate threat modeling into the product development lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure actionable security requirements are derived and implemented.
Define Technical Cybersecurity Standards: Establish and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity standards, guidelines, and patterns for product development. Ensure these standards align with industry best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO, OWASP) and regulatory requirements.
Provide Technical Cyber Architecture Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert to product teams, offering hands-on architectural guidance to embed security into product designs and implementations. Provide technical guidance to teams on solutioning and addressing complex cyber related issues.
Enhance Logging and Monitoring Capabilities: Define requirements and provide architectural guidance for robust logging and monitoring solutions across our product portfolio. Ensure effective detection and response capabilities for security incidents.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering, product management, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure security is an integral part of our product strategy. Clearly communicate complex security topics to diverse audiences.
Stay Abreast of Emerging Threats: Continuously research and evaluate new and emerging security threats, technologies, and TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) to proactively enhance our security posture.
Skills:
Proven experience in developing and implementing threat modeling programs (e.g., STRIDE, PASTA, DREAD).
Demonstrable experience in securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with defining and enforcing technical security standards and controls.
Familiarity with security considerations for AI/ML systems is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) principles and practices.
Experience with logging and monitoring tools and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Deep understanding of common application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25) and mitigation techniques.
Proficiency in security architecture principles and frameworks.
Strong knowledge of network security, cryptography, identity and access management, and data protection.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.
Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, PCI DSS, ATT&CK, D3FEND, CIS, CSF, NICE, CAF.
Target Base Salary Range: $98,100 USD - $196,200 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Note: Candidate must be in the Chicago and/or Schaumburg office 1-2 days per week.
