Join us as an Algorithmic Trading Analyst

  • Joining a team of carbon and other environmental markets specialists, you’ll carry out trading activities on authorised products according to our strategy and risk appetite
  • You’ll assist customers with market access and support our deal teams wherever there is a dependency on environmental markets
  • This is an exciting new area that combines climate impact with innovative technology and the work you do will produce a tangible impact for our customers

What you'll do

As an Algorithmic Trading Analyst, you’ll build an understanding of the latest developments in a rapidly growing industry and you’ll conduct due diligence on individual projects, assessing their performance as well as the scientific rigour of the methodologies they follow.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Delivering presentations and teach-ins, both internally and externally
  • Supporting the execution of trades, evaluating commercial details, and assisting the team in complying with governance and policy
  • The timely, accurate, and consistent pricing and execution of the desk’s product range in line with our policy as well as daily risk management of the desk’s books using appropriate hedging instruments
  • The accurate, complete, and timely booking and recording of the desk’s transactions, the daily review of the desk’s activities, and reconciliation of its P&L
  • Working with Sales and Structuring to widen our client footprint, and supporting marketing activities

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with a background in science, particularly chemistry or biology, and the self-motivation to explore academic research independently. You’ll have a naturally curious mindset and a desire to learn about new topics as well as deepen your understanding of existing ones.

We’re also looking for:

  • An understanding of trading, P&L, and environmental markets
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Excellent influencing, presentation, and communication skills
  • The ability to make important business decisions based on accumulated knowledge

The expected base annual salary range for this position is $95,000 - $100,000 at the start of employment. This is not a guarantee of compensation.  The exact compensation is determined  on an individualized basis and may vary based on skills, experience, training licensure, certifications and location.  In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus; medical, dental, and vision plans; life and disability insurance; employee wellness programs; retirement and savings plans with potential employer contributions; generous paid time off policy, parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
