Job Summary: This role is a key liaison between Global Quality (GQ), Embedded Business Unit (EBU) and suppliers with respect to quality management aspects of the Aerospace and Defense business.  Quality management aspects include responsibility quality control planning, industry standards compliance roadmap compliance, business process definition, product quality performance and improvement projects.   The role is jointly accountable for meeting the business unit segment objectives with respect to revenue and margin via establishment of quality performance and risk management targets. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Documented process mapping of the extended order fulfilment supply chain, including cross functional organization and software system exchanges as well as detailed product test flow definition.   Internal documentation is to be detailed to the degree needed for error prevention and escape point improvement  as well as a simplified, reduced version for external customer-facing  collateral and communication. 
  • Understand current quality controls within both Micron and suppliers and ensure these are fully described within Quality Control Plans.
  • Lead the performance of cross functional risk and defense line analysis of the order fulfillment supply chain and quality controls to prioritize risks and related actions for preventing problems (e.g. incorrect product, lead cross-contamination, etc.) and providing early detection. 
  • Drive the deployment of A&D quality flows which supports Micron’s goal of leadership in customer perceived quality as measured by customer quality score cards.
  • Perform analysis of Aerospace, Defense and Federal standards (e.g. AS9100, AS6294 series, MIL-STD-883, etc.) for the purpose of improved subcon/supplier management and understanding.  Define the procedures needed to comprehend and meet industry standards, where applicable, and develop internal training as needed.
  • Define, plan and lead the execution of improvement projects as needed in order to support performance objectives (customer satisfaction, operational errors, yield enhancement, risk reduction, standards compliance, etc.) 
  • Lead cross functional collaboration within GQ functions (die and package qual, Fab and BE quality, customer quality engineering, supplier quality, Quality Management Office QMS and Audit) in order to establish a consistent GQ expectation and communication with regards to the A&D quality performance. 
  • Support problem solving core teams as a coordinator or facilitator to ensure collaboration with cross-functional subject matter experts in response to product quality returns or excursions impacting the A&D business. 
  • Establish excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication by serving as a primary GQ liaison with other department entities:
  • EBU business development, standards, and product architecture functions
  • Package development and engineering functions relating to deball, lead reball, etc.
  • Test Solutions Engineering (TSE) and Product Engineering for test flow development and improvement
  • Procurement and Micron External Manufacturing (MEM) for supplier performance including determining of Quality scorecards content
  • Government Affairs and the Federal working group as necessary in order to support quality aspects of the federal programs
  • Legal department in support of A&D product warranty definitions and claims. 

Requirements:

Semiconductor and test development engineering experience is required, while combined experience in Aerospace/Defense or Automotive is preferred

5+ years experience in Aerospace and Defense standards strongly preferred

Strong program and project management skills including leading continuous improvement projects

Experience in applying Automotive control plan, DFMEA and PFMEA, and other quality improvement methodologies

Experience in defining business processes, including cross-functional process flow mapping, and improvement projects

Ability to get a US Gov clearance, including but not limited to US citizenship

Highly assertive and proactive mindset is required
