Job Description Summary

The Towers Sourcing Leader is a critical member of the Wind Sourcing Leadership Team. The role leads a global team responsible for towers across a global supply chain and customer footprint. You will be responsible to partner with key stakeholders to build a differentiated strategy and drive execution through the value chain.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Owns a large global sourcing strategy including cross-functional alignment with product, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Accountable for developing, leading and implementing activities to deliver on safety, quality, delivery (Lead time, capacity, fulfillment), and landed/ lifecycle cost
  • Drives Lean across the commodity value stream including building/executing lean roadmap, implementing standard work, and continuous improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global sourcing team, ensuring alignment, accountability, and execution excellence
  • Partners with Product Management on component product cost targets that deliver profitable products to the market. Owns should-cost models, sourcing strategies, and design-to-cost initiatives 
  • Own supplier selection and negotiation strategy, ensuring commercial terms and contract structures support long-term business needs
  • Drive strategic supplier management through regular engagement, performance reviews, and development plans aligned to balanced scorecard KPIs
  • Execute sourcing levers such as e-auctions, dual sourcing, localization, value engineering, and long-term agreements to meet financial and operational objectives
  • Monitor commodity trends, market dynamics, and risk factors, adjusting sourcing strategies proactively
  • Lead sourcing process standardization and best practice sharing across regions and functions within the commodity
  • Lead vendor recovery strategy and execution to ensure supplier accountability and mitigate financial impact to GEV
  • Drive 100% compliance to sourcing policy / procedures, supplier approval, competitive bidding, and delegation of authority approval 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of buyer, global commodity, logistics, and/or supply quality experience
  • Relevant leadership experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience leading, developing, and executing multi-year global commodity strategies
  • Experience with Wind turbine mechanical components cost structure, supply base, and performance
  • Proven strong results with supplier strategy, commodity negotiations, supplier selection, and contracts management
  • Strategic thinker – able to process many inputs, understand market complexity, and develop winning commodity strategies
  • Excellent business acumen with demonstrated ability to assess tradeoffs and take decisions
  • Lean mindset – able to drive process improvement, standard work, etc.
  • Effectively influences across a wide range of stakeholders. Effectively engages with individuals at all levels of the organization to drive most impactful outcomes
  • Global leadership experience with proven track record of delivering on business priorities. Attracts, develops, and grows talent. Excellent communicator, coach, and mentor
  • Advanced degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $198,400 and $297,600 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
