What You Will Do:
Design authority to approve proposed data architecture and design to confirm alignment with DnA reference architecture and industry best practices.
Lead the development of large data architecture initiatives to address complex business requirements, including design and deployment, ensuring alignment to broader organization objectives.
Technical Lead of projects and resources involved in the design and deployment of the data architecture, ensuring the appropriate expectations, principles, structures, tools and responsibilities are in place to deliver excellence and risks are identified, managed and mitigated.
Capture and translate the business requirements for future data & analytics architecture changes and identify the techniques and technologies that should be applied at the application level.
Visualize and Design Enbridge’s Enterprise Data Marketplace framework including the associated processes to specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data.
Provide innovative and practical designs that account for the end-to-end solution for a data architecture that is in line with the business objectives.
Resolve escalated design and implementation issues with moderate to high complexity.
Validate that analytics solutions align with architecture design to meet business requirements and service-level expectations.
Ensure data architecture components conform to technical functionality (e.g., security, performance, scalability, data recovery, reliability, etc.)
Responsible for developing data analytics models (e.g., data marts) and provide expert advice to ensure the development of processes will transform/clean/load data into those models as expected.
Ensure operations training, operations knowledge-transfer, and operations related documentation is kept updated.
Communicate effectively and frequently with the assigned business customers as their requests are being fulfilled; be responsive and available to business concerns, issues, feedback, and questions.
Provide detailed architecture designs for implementation by service delivery teams.
Understand and implement analytics best practices for modern data architecture design, including big data solutions.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and at least seven (7) years progressively experience in a lead data architecture role within a large and complex organization.
Right mix of technical and analytical, possessing 5 or more years of IT platform implementation experience, including off-prem and Cloud environments.
Experience using and designing key data structures, algorithms and techniques relate to systems that support high volume, velocity, or variety datasets including apps that utilize machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, or NewSQL database systems, and data modeling, structured and unstructured.
Knowledge and Experience in implementing cloud (IaaS and SaaS) for large organizations.
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
Technical experience in business intelligence, data warehousing and analytics; including architecting data for modern cloud-based analytical solutions as well as working with data ingestion, data engineering, data provisioning, data visualization, data science teams.
Deep understanding and experience of modern data warehousing, ETL/ELT and big data analytics technologies such as MS Azure data factory, Databricks, Talend/Informatica etc.
Experience in using data visualization tools such as PowerBI/Cognos BI expertise.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills with all levels of management and the ability to empower teams to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic and complex problems.
Strong analytical and interpretive skills to recognize and comprehend complex issues, policies, regulatory requirements and industry information affecting Enbridge’s environment.
Ability to strategically assess and mitigate the impact on Enbridge’s vision and Strategy when directing the implementation of new or changing policies and processes.
Excellent customer service, leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred:
·TOGAF ® certification an asset.
Knowledge of Agile development best practices, and experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps and Confluence.
Expertise in cloud architecture and security fundamentals including containers, software-defined networks, high availability design, multi-cloud, and serverless compute.
