The Opportunity

This is a full time position that works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the GES Global Engineering Services division.

The operations training supervisor leads the Operational Training Team in supporting business and area needs, ensuring training initiatives align with operational priorities. Directs and oversees projects to enable the delivery of high‑quality training programs and to support compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Responsible for the coordination, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical training programs for core operations and associated support groups. Ensure all training activities and documentation remain compliant with established policies and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while driving results and fostering a culture of operational excellence.

What You’ll Work On

  • Responsible to do the required interfaces with local cross functional teams and Division for delivering strategies and implementing Training Initiatives, goals and objectives.  Responsible for ensuring consistency in the training approach across the different sites and departments.
  • Responsible to identify training needs, research for training options and develops/recommends the most effective methods in relation to the job function, activities associated to the introduction of new products and processes etc. to ensure timely completion of training prior execution.  Reports training/knowledge gaps and executes actions as deemed necessary.
  • Responsible to ensure the correctly trained staff to support Operation’s needs.   Accountable for the maintenance of the Operations Training Matrix, cross training programs and rotations
  • Responsible to communicate production changes to affected areas and to ensure understanding of changes. Acts as a change agent, mentor and coach to drive and sustain Training in the site.  Responsible to contribute in the development, interpretation and implementation of training policies and procedures that affect work processes and personnel.
  • Conducts coaching and training to the area Trainers.  Provides direction and guidance for the on the job training, group training and one-one coaching.  Leads the tactical process for conducting cross training to increase productivity and efficiencies.  Interacts with internal and external customers by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining training process and procedures.
  • Responsible for the planning and organization of training projects assignments by initiating and maintaining the milestones and the schedule.  Monitors daily work and provide direction and guidance to experienced exempt employees, or skilled non - exempt staff to achieve unit or project goals.
  • Analyzes quality data, processes and procedures to identify training gaps and improvement opportunities.  Responsible in creating and implementing continuous improvement actions and/or have the ownership of training issues resolution.
  • Keeps informed of best practices within industry about training and works to implement best practice on site.
  • Able to represent groups during external and internal audits for training policies, projects and documentation.  Responsible for monitoring and ensure training compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering or Arts with a major in Education.
  • 5+ Experience in regulated environment specifically in Quality, Maintenance, Operations and Training.

The base pay for this position is

$61,300.00 – $122,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
