Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing, the Data Analyst / Data Strategist is an entry-level, contract role responsible for creating new data reporting, dashboards, and business insights to support strategic sourcing and enterprise initiatives. This role focuses on building and enhancing reporting solutions, translating business questions into actionable insights, and leveraging McKesson Canada’s wholesale data environment to enable informed decision-making.
Section A – Key Responsibilities: Data Strategy, Reporting & Wholesale
Data Commercialization
• Develop, build, and maintain new data reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions to support Strategic Sourcing and enterprise initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and execution of a wholesale data strategy for McKesson Canada, aligned with commercial and strategic priorities.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of commercialized data used internally and externally.
• Develop innovative data solutions and insights for manufacturers as part of McKesson Canada’s data commercialization strategy.
• Champion the use of new technologies, automation, and advanced analytics to enable deeper insights and improved decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into structured data requirements and insights.
• Represent Strategic Sourcing / Strategic Procurement in data initiatives, reporting enhancements, and tool development.
• Liaise with internal partners to support current and future data innovations.
• Partner with security and governance teams to validate data integrity and access.
• Act as a subject matter expert in data reporting and best practices.
• Collaborate with Strategic Procurement to enhance data products and support
incremental data-driven revenue.
• Maintain documentation and procedures to ensure data quality and security.
Section B – General Responsibilities
• Develop working knowledge of McKesson Canada’s wholesale and healthcare environment.
• Stay current on analytics tools and best practices.
• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
Section C – Position Requirements
Experience:
• 0–2 years of experience in data analytics or related roles (internships accepted).
Education:
• Master’s degree strongly preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or
Software Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree may be considered with strong technical experience.
Technical Skills:
• Power BI or similar tools
• SQL (basic querying)
• Excel and Microsoft Office
• Snowflake or cloud platforms (asset)
• Bilingual French/English (asset)
The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.
