The opportunity: 

Group Claims Strategy & Execution is expanding to align top industry talent with building best-in-class experiences for Sun Life clients! As Business Process Associate, Group Claims, you will partner with operational leaders to deliver process excellence, solution consulting, and project execution in their business areas.

How you will contribute: 

  • You will own a portfolio of business processes to streamline, improve, and best align them with users’ needs
    • Oversee business process governance that spans all Claims areas to ensure standards and approval structure is upheld
    • Stabilize business processes and produce streamlined documentation; includes end-to-end flows cross-functionally
    • Manage process confirmation routine, ongoing process and one-best-way maintenance
    • Maintain help notes and best practice narratives that align with current processes
    • Leads development of net new business processes in partnership with leadership and subject matter experts
    • Partner with leaders to prioritize gaps and processes for optimization
  • Leads delivery excellence for aligned initiatives managed by the Program Delivery Office
    • Uses tools, knowledge, and leadership skills to adapt to various phases of initiative delivery
    • Drives project execution of planned and resourced initiatives
    • Consults on continuous improvement activities, solution development, process impact assessments, lean process voice, data analysis and success measurements
    • Partners with Client Journey stewards; participates in journey development or refinement as needed
    • Participates in training, adoption, and change management activities as necessary

Required Education and Experience

  • Prior direct involvement developing or administering Group Insurance products
  • 3+ years of cross-functional or large-scale project management as main role discipline
  • Understands and can apply Lean concepts to business process
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt and/or PMP certification a plus

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is: 

  • Southern California region: 58,300-87,500 annually
  • Central California region: 61,500-92,300 annually
  • Northern California region: 65,800-98,700 annually

If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is 55,700-83,600 annually.

If you are a Illinois, Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is 58,300-87,500 annually

If you are Washington, Washington D.C., and Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is 61,500-92,300 annually.

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is 65,800-98,700 annually.
