Education required: Open to students pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Other requirements: Must be currently enrolled at a university in Singapore and pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. The internship must be part of a credit-bearing course as part of your academic program.

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: January to June 2025

What will you do?

This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to plant equipment in the pharmaceutical industry. If selected, you will work closely with experienced engineers to manage and conduct inspections and assessments of plant equipment. You will also collaborate with team members to prepare detailed reports and documentation, and contribute to ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

What will you learn?

  • Address and mitigate risks associated with the loss of primary containment in static equipment, including piping systems, tanks, and flexible hoses.

  • Identify potential failure points and analyze existing safety measures to implement improvements that prevent leaks or ruptures.

  • Conduct thorough inspections and integrity assessments and develop enhanced maintenance and monitoring procedures.

  • Aim to reduce the risk of hazardous material releases to ensure both environmental safety and operational reliability.

  • Acquire technical knowledge in static equipment, containment systems, inspection techniques, risk assessment, procedural development, and gain valuable industry insights.
