Your Mission:

Blizzard is on a quest to find a dedicated Product Marketing Consultant to join the  Overwatch 2 marketing team in Irvine, CA, on a six-month contract. This individual will  support the marketing team with go-to-market planning and execution of a major feature for the Overwatch 2. 

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, collaborative, and eager to learn.  They possess a basic understanding of marketing principles and are passionate about the  video game industry - its players and best practices - and interested in contributing to the  success of Overwatch 2 seasonal content and experiences! 

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market (GTM)  strategy for the upcoming feature launch, ensuring alignment with overall business  objectives and brand guidelines.

  • Market Research: Review in-depth market research to understand player needs,  preferences, and behaviors. Analyze the competitive landscape to identify  opportunities and threats. 

  • Messaging and Positioning: Segment market and identify target audiences that the  new feature can appeal to. Craft compelling messaging and positioning for the new  feature that resonates with target audiences.  

  • Campaign Management: Plan and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns to  build anticipation and drive engagement for the feature launch. Monitor campaign  performance and optimize as needed.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with brand, social, product,  development, community and eSports teams to ensure seamless coordination and  execution of the launch plan. 

  • Performance Analysis: Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure the  success of marketing efforts. Provide insights and recommendations for future  campaigns. 

  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update internal stakeholders on campaign  progress, key milestones, and any potential issues. Prepare detailed reports and  presentations as needed.

Requirements:

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Economics or a related field

  • Demonstrated track record of successful feature or product launches


Knowledge & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the gaming industry.

  • Passion for FPS games and/or Overwatch 2. 

  • Thought leadership and analytical problem solving

Key Attributes:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail

  • Strong written and presentation skills

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $72,720.00 - $134,460.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
