Lead with Purpose, Unlock Your Team’s Passion

At LPL, people leaders hold the key to the employee experience — shaping culture, driving performance, and guiding individuals to new heights. Because when that happens, we all win – clients, LPL, and most importantly our, employees.

If you're ready to lead with intention and discover what’s possible, LPL Financial invites you to apply today.

Are you energized by solving complex operational problems, modernizing workflow platforms, and helping teams turn strategy into measurable execution? Do you enjoy bringing together business, product, technology, testing, automation, and governance partners to create practical, scalable solutions? The VPII, Operations Strategy and Delivery role offers the opportunity to lead a highly connected Operations strategy and delivery function at the center of LPL’s ongoing transformation — spanning automation strategy, workflow product management, and user acceptance testing across Operations. The role is designed for a leader who can create clarity, drive accountability, and help teams deliver measurable improvements in advisor experience, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and execution quality.

The VPII, Operations Strategy and Delivery will lead a unified function responsible for Operations Automation Strategy, BOPM/RDM Product Management, and Operations UAT. This leader will own the operating model that connects strategic automation opportunities, workflow product roadmaps, and business validation/testing into a cohesive execution engine for Operations. The role will serve as a senior partner to Operations, Product, Technology, Data, Risk, Compliance, and Transformation leaders, ensuring that high-impact operational workflows are prioritized, designed, delivered, tested, governed, and measured in a disciplined way.

Responsibilities:

The VPII, Operations Strategy and Delivery will be accountable for aligning roadmaps, shaping investment cases, managing tradeoffs, driving delivery health, and ensuring automation and AI-enabled workflow transformation are applied responsibly in a regulated financial services environment.

  • Lead the Operations Automation Strategy function, partnering with Operations SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders to identify end-to-end automation opportunities that improve efficiency, increase scalability, reduce manual/error-prone work, and improve the associate and advisor experience.
  • Oversee automation business cases, value hypotheses, implementation-cost inputs, and multi-year roadmaps that support prioritization and funding decisions for Operations transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure Operations needs are represented, sequenced, and integrated into Product and Technology roadmaps, including work that spans multiple domains or requires dependency management across teams.
  • Own BOPM/RDM Product Management leadership, ensuring the team defines the “what” and “why,” translates business objectives into prioritized backlogs, documents product vision and delivery roadmaps, and maintains a single source of truth for scope, priorities, and readiness.
  • Guide BOPM as a strategic operations workflow platform and RDM as the Records and Document Management capability, with a focus on scalable workflow orchestration, document management, operational intelligence, and migration away from legacy workflow patterns where applicable.
  • Lead the Operations UAT function to validate that technology changes meet business requirements before production, protect advisor/client experience, identify defects, support resolution, and prioritize production stability.
  • Oversee UAT operating model performance, including collaboration with Product, Technology, QA/QE, business stakeholders, release teams, and vendor partners across SDLC ceremonies, test strategy, test execution, defect validation, sign-off, and production support.
  • Establish governance routines that provide transparent reporting on portfolio health, delivery progress, risks, tradeoffs, value realization, and escalation needs.
  • Drive an automation-first, AI-informed strategy that balances deterministic automation, workflow orchestration, AI-assisted decisioning, and human-in-the-loop controls based on business value, risk, explainability, and operational readiness.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of leaders and practitioners, setting clear expectations for execution discipline, stakeholder leadership, product quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for strong collaborators who deliver exceptional client experiences and thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. Our ideal candidates pursue greatness, act with integrity, and are driven to help our clients succeed. We value those who embrace creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, operations transformation, technology-enabled delivery, portfolio management, consulting, or related leadership roles, preferably within financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading portfolio-level delivery across multiple teams, platforms, or initiatives with accountability for outcomes, roadmap execution, dependency management, and business value realization.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders across Operations, Product, Technology, Data, Risk, Compliance, QA/QE, and/or Transformation to drive strategic alignment and disciplined execution.
  • Experience leading or overseeing product teams, automation/transformation teams, UAT/testing teams, or vendor-managed delivery functions, including performance expectations, governance, and talent development.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply automation, workflow orchestration, AI literacy, human-in-the-loop models, and operational controls to improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and risk management.

Core Competencies:

  • Enterprise Strategy to Execution: Ability to translate strategic objectives into roadmaps, operating routines, delivery plans, business cases, and measurable outcomes.
  • Workflow Product Leadership: Strong understanding of product management practices, including vision, prioritization, backlog health, delivery tradeoffs, roadmap governance, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Automation and AI-Informed Transformation: Ability to assess where automation, agentic capabilities, process mining, digital attestation, AI-assisted decisioning, and human-in-the-loop models can accelerate Operations outcomes responsibly.
  • Governance and Accountability: Ability to create transparent forums, decision rights, escalation paths, structured reporting, and cross-functional accountability across business, product, technology, and compliance partners where needed.
  • Quality and Readiness Discipline: Ability to ensure business requirements, test strategy, defect management, release readiness, sign-off, and production support are tightly connected to business outcomes and operational risk reduction.
  • People Leadership: Ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing teams while creating clarity, ownership, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Preferences:

  • Experience with workflow platforms, business process management, Camunda, BOPM, records/document management platforms, or back-office operations technology.
  • Experience with large-scale Operations transformation, including cost-to-serve reduction, cycle-time improvement, straight-through-processing improvement, NIGO reduction, or productivity/value realization.
  • Experience managing or influencing vendor-managed testing, QA/QE, UAT, release readiness, or production validation functions.
  • Experience building executive-level materials, business cases, governance updates, investment recommendations, or transformation roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with LPL Operations, advisor/client experience, back-office workflow, regulatory controls, or product/technology delivery governance.
